With over 125 members, cric e. V. is the largest and one of the oldest associations dedicated to promoting ethics and sustainability in investment. We place greater emphasis on environmental, social and cultural aspects in the economy. For a fair and sustainable economy. For 25 years.

We engage in dialogue with representatives from business, politics and society to promote ethical and sustainable investment, and we are active at the intersections of finance, business, NGOs, church institutions, society and academia, as well as amongst institutional and private investors.

- Collecting, compiling and providing information on ethically sustainable investments in society, politics, academia and the business community
- Educational work through events and initiatives aimed at raising awareness of ethical and sustainable investment
- Actively fostering dialogue between investors, the business community, NGOs, churches and the financial sector
- Promoting education and research in the field of sustainable finance
- National and international networking
Academic support
In addition to connecting key stakeholders, we pool the necessary expertise: through publications, thematic dossiers and guidance documents, we provide in-depth insights into current developments and issues – such as the current state of engagement in the sustainable finance sector. In our in-house think tank, the cricTank, we address ethical investment issues and support early-career researchers – currently also as part of the (preliminary) jury for the Sustainable Finance Awards.
Our academic support provides guidance, generates ideas and fosters dialogue for a sustainable financial sector.

What does cric do?
- cric promotes ethical and sustainable investment. To this end, the non-profit association, together with its more than 125 members, engages in dialogue and organises various activities and initiatives at the interfaces between sectors such as the financial sector, NGOs, the Church, asset owners, business, academia, society and private investors.
- Our aim is to promote and further develop ethics and sustainability in the field of sustainable finance. In doing so, our members place great importance on value- and impact-oriented approaches and their critical reflection, as well as on critical discourse, in order to inspire the market.

Who are cric’s members? Who can become a member of cric?
- In principle, anyone can become a member of cric.
- Our members(opens in new tab) have their own values and impact-oriented approach to asset management and promote these. They are committed to expanding the financial sector to support socially sustainable transformation, and they support educational programmes, academia and research, as well as critical discourse.
- They include institutional and private investors, organisations, companies – whether self-employed, charitable, public, church-affiliated, NGOs or academic institutions – and many more.

Is there a charge for attending a cric event?
- In the vast majority of cases, cric events are free of charge. Should a fee be charged, this will be stated directly in the invitation. Furthermore, events are open to everyone. Events in our events calendar that are not organised by cric itself may differ from this.
Where do events take place?
- This varies depending on the event format. There are both online and in-person events. We regularly organise events in Germany, Switzerland and Austria in cooperation with our members. More information on upcoming events can be found in the events calendar.
